Students were responsible for maintaining inventory, sales logs, purchases, receivables, and payables. • Developed a new Academy (IDEA) based on student sales and business accounting.• Assisted in the implementation of a new Housing System that focused on building school and community culture. • Developed a school-wide informal curriculum used daily in Homeroom.• Organized community events to promote parent, teacher, and community relationships. • Organized and facilitated a STEM Showcase for students, teachers, families, and community members with approximately 300 people in attendance.

Deltona Middle Schools

• Designed and implemented a digitally infused STEM curriculum consisting of fifteen diverse six-week real-world “Missions” that were run on Canvas, a digital LMS (Learning Management System). • Missions were designed to be student-driven, challenging, and engaging. Examples include Lego Robotics, CyberPatriot (cyber defense), circuitry with Arduinos, block coding with Minecraft, computer programming with Code Academy, and entrepreneurial skills developed in our student-run school store where students design, create and sell student-made items. • Taught over 235 students utilizing a personally designed STEM curriculum for all STEM Academy students grades 6-8.• Demonstrated successful classroom management skills, effective teaching techniques, and the ability to set a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes a successful student-centered learning environment. • Lead coach of two Lego Robotics competition teams where students learned about block coding, presentation skills, and teamwork. • Lead coach of three CyberPatriot teams, a National Youth Cyber Education Program associated with the Air Force, where students have learned how to increase cyber safety and security while developing sportsmanship skills within a national competition.• Established continuous communication with students and parents to cultivate a positive rapport with both students and families to foster a sense of community.

Deltona Middle School

• Received 80% learning gains at a Title 1 school with 84% economically disadvantaged students.• Worked with students and parents to bring passing rates for the 7th Grade Mathematics FSA to 78% compared to 44.6% proficiency for Volusia County Schools and 46.4% proficiency for Deltona Middle School for the 2017-2018 school year.• Achieved the highest Danielson Framework rating of Highly Distinguished on annual evaluation. • Differentiated learning to fit the individual needs of a diverse group of students, including students with disabilities and English language learners. • Established a “Sunday Funday” tutoring program designed for individual success while focusing on community outreach. • Successfully engaged students with interactive cross-curricular STEM lessons designed to create a stronger real-world mathematics connection, resulting in a consistent increase in content retention. • Analyzed student assessment data and collaborated with colleagues to customize student instruction, grade-level curriculum design, and academic interventions. • Member of Volusia County School District’s curriculum mapping committee. • Established continuous communication with students and parents to cultivate a positive rapport with both students and families to foster a sense of community.

• Received 60% learning gains in a Title 1 school with 97% non-white ethnicity.• Students received 57% proficiency when 38% proficiency was reached for the school for the 2013-2014 school year.• Began an initiative with the School Board of Broward County to assist in the retention of minority males to place students in their appropriate grade level.• Provided a blended learning environment that enhanced student engagement and created a collaborative learning environment for all students, including ESE and ESOL students.
