About me: I schooled with a focus on learning about what I was interested in, and that bred a love for true knowledge and the sciences. I wondered about the physics of things before I knew what physics was, but up until around age 15, I was never a fan of math; community college bred my love for math. Taking every class I could at the two-year school I got all the way to calc 3, and at that point had to choose whether to stay science or switch to engineering. The school and its advisors seemingly couldn't advise me to take calc 3 -- they advised against it -- while pursuing an associate in sciences as it simply wasn't part of the curriculum. This was the time when I was torn between the engineering program at NC State and the pre dental track centered around Biology at UNC. My best friend through cc math classes went on to the former, and I the latter -- we owe a great deal to each other. Remembering back to one late night studying together with him in the library, I checked the time and realized it was Halloween night. I was so caught up with solving integrals that I forgot about a holiday I had enjoyed celebrating in the past. I may have/ feel some regrets, but I acknowledge that hindsight is 20/20 and have respect for the decisions I made -- with the information I had -- at the time. Though there are things I would do differently knowing what I know now there is no weight on me. Through the power of Jesus Christ, I aim to be a better living being every day, learning from my mistakes, and finding righteousness through faith in God. I mostly learned for the sake of learning and exploring my own curiosities rather than as a means to get a degree and job. Today that curiosity is a bright flame, and I hope to push the bounds of what is known especially with the work of my hands. My interest in engineering, technology, reinvention, psychology, people, chemistry and every thread of earthly knowledge is very much ablaze. Any STEM knowledge, especially that which has the ability to advance us into a future of untold technological innovations, gives me hope. I picture a world where everybody has/wants fresh water, clean air, comfort, challenge that develops strong character and where life is smooth, energy is sustainable, and the potential for innovations is infinite. I work to make this world easier for everybody, because this world is by its very nature difficult enough on its own.
