Assisted the Office of Financial Aid with file work, meeting and working with students and families, and advising on financial options and requirements.

Victory Base Complex, Biap, Baghdad, Iraq

Served the 31st Air Defense Artillery Battalion, 5th ADA Regiment as a Navy operator of the land-based modified Phalanx 1B Close-In Weapons System. I was responsible for the defense of the Victory Base Complex (VBC) from enemy indirect fire ranging from mortars to sophisticated missile systems. Working everyday for 360+ days in country, I experienced many different cultures, languages, and engaged in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance. During this period I was also exposed to joint branch organization and activities while attached to the 31st ADA, an Army unit, and received an Army Achievement Medal for my contributions.After this deployment I was HONORABLY discharged as an STS2 (SS), the rank of E-5, after having served 5 years and 8 months in the Navy.

Submarine Base Bangor, Silverdale Wa

Served aboard the USS Louisiana SSBN-743 (Gold) as a Sonar Technician. During this time I helped gain, classify, and track surface and sub-surface targets. In coordination with several other departments on the submarine, I discerned target course, distance, and speed, all to help formulate a potential firing solution. Additional responsibilities included repair parts petty officer (RPPO) and assistant intelligence officer.Fields in which I have hands-on experience include: electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, nuclear power, air filtration, air conditioning, refrigeration, logistics, radio, navigation, rocketry, C4ISR, basic seamanship, food preparation, and security.
