I am currently an Innovation Associate at Plexal, a government-lead innovation company where I work in the Digital Innovation and Security Hub (DiSH) in Manchester providing business support to startups and SMEs via the DiSH Accelerator Programme. During my time at University, I achieved my ambition of a Distinction in my NCSC certified degree in MSc Cyber Security at the University of York. I am a tenacious individual who takes great pride in the work I produce, the technical and scientific research I conduct and my ability to apply my knowledge to a range of technical and non-technical roles. I find the process of identifying issues regarding technology and developing my own projects based on personal interest extremely exciting and mentally stimulating, and I actively seek out further education regarding topics inside and outside of my university studies. I have a good foundation of knowledge on cyber security, however I can also demonstrate an excellent capacity for specialist aspects in addition to possessing the ability to quickly pickup new technologies and concepts. I have an admirable capacity for communication, public speaking and an emotional quotient that can be applied constructively to projects and people within a team; this skill was effectively applied during the NCSC Innovators event in which I was an integral component to a team and pitched innovative ideas to both my peers and industry experts who I have kept in touch with since. My part-work outside of university would often rely upon my leadership, time management and critical thinking skills to effectively organise events. Outside of my professional career, I have taken part in fundraising events for charity within my amateur dramatics group in Derbyshire in addition to competing in video game and card game tournaments around the UK.
