I love building software and love using what I build. I came up with an idea in 2016 to build a new kind of browser that keeps all the sites you use each day front and centre to make you more productive. With some initial prototyping I launched the first version in just a few days and Wavebox was born. Originally built on Electron, it seemed trivially easy to build a browser, however 2 years down the line I started to realise that as good as Electron is, it’s not the best tool for the job. I decided to rewrite Wavebox as a fork of Chromium and really push the envelope forwards to bring everything that’s expected of a browser to all our users. Since then the team and l have been on a mission to turn the browser into an efficient workspace for today’s complex SaaS ecosystem. Most of my development time is spent in C++, TypeScript and React with a few other technologies sprinkled in.Previously I worked for Locly creating a mobile app builder focusing on iBeacon location experiences, with the mobile apps built in React-Native Android and Objective-C. I also worked at Bookry creating interactive e-books for Apple iBooks, with the highlight being the interactive version of the “Slightly annoying elephant” by David Williams.Over the years I’ve picked up different technologies for different tasks so have a broad range of skills in different programming languages & frameworks; Node.js, Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, Python, Django, Java to name just a few.Personal: I’m a total geek, love gaming, massively into Lego (largest set: Titanic. Favourite set: Pac-Man). Husband & Dad to one amazing little boy, who’s also Lego obsessed & angel twins lost too soon 👼👼 #BabyLossAwareness. I live in a small zoo, with 3 sausage dogs 🐕🦮🐕‍🦺 and a hamster 🐹.
