About Tim Wilson

Hello, I'm Tim. I am a senior programme manager and change-maker working across the broad engineering, STEM, Arts, Creative, Cultural, Tech, Education, Charity, Not-for-Profit sectors. I am also a professional drummer and musician for IO Earth, Dave Cureton and sessions. ---I currently work as Universities and Partnerships Lead at Engineers Without Borders UK engaging directly with industry and education to drive change in sustainability and global responsibility across the engineering sector and upskill engineers to be fully considerate of the needs of people and planet.Prior to this:- 2020-2022: managing outreach at Computing At School, a network of thousands of computing teachers and educators, growing computing education, managing over 65 communities of practice for teachers across the Midlands and the South West. - 2015-2019: at the Raspberry Pi Foundation, managing the Midlands network of Code Clubs, a global programme of after-school coding clubs, inspiring the next generation through code, growing the community of clubs, volunteers and building key partnerships across the West and East Midlands. In the West Midlands, the Code Club community grew from 100 clubs to over 700 clubs in four and half years in the role.I work freelance on various marketing/events, bus dev and strategic work, including 15+ years in the creative industries. Clients have included Nextdoor leading their establishment in Birmingham as part of their UK launch and ongoing events/comms work for Birmingham City University. I'm passionate for the next generation of young talent and as a STEM Ambassador and Raspberry Pi Certified Educator, I work alongside young people to develop their creativity, skills and future aspirations.I work actively within the music industry. I manage marketing for Code Drumheads, a UK-based drum head company. I am also an active drummer and musician over 25 years, performing and gigging with IO Earth, recording sessions and other projects. I endorse and support Natal Drums, Amedia Cymbals, Pellwood, IFI studio and Code Drumheads.I love film. I'm a podcaster, co-presenting the Screen Brum and you'll find me in the cinema when I'm not gigging or rehearsing.
