My early career inspired my desire on technology industry. We have a group of 5 people with passion to build products that people love. We are very keen on using different tools. Remarkable things include:• HKUST BioCRF Equipment Booking: Built a cloud application running on Google App Engine, Python and NDB datastore (NoSQL). The user base is over 600.• Developed the first e-commerce platform built on Django, MySQL with payment gateway (PayPal & PayDollar).• Developed iOS application that hit the Top Download Chart in App Store.

In April 2015, I was promoted and took over management and leadership of web development team (5 people). In addition to HKTVmall e-commerce site, I took on responsibility for “HKTV 4 Million Lucky Draw” cloud application (Azure), Dynamic Remarketing and variety of internal tools (built on python, node.js and bash)In this time period, my team shipped a number of e-commerce site features, my contribution include:• Built a solid foundation of JSP tag environment and jQuery plugin, in order to increase the scalability for over 1,000,000 customer, 2,000 retails, 5 major categories and over 200 sub categories.• Relied on Chrome dev tool to increase rendering performance for first paint, prioritized layer for GPU, identified and removed repaint burden.• Revamped mobile site in progressive manner to incorporate with native apps (Android and iOS).• Dynamic Remarketing: Embed Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel for over 120,000 products.• Designed & Implemented scalable Java servlet application with Azure PaaS infrastructure and Service Bus in behind for node.js async tasks (SMPP).• Designed & Implemented node.js (Express) application for logistic delivery system for over 10,0000 location coverage and 3000 shipments daily.• Deployed Docker container for Sentry real time error tracking.• Provided training for junior developers with topic on build tools, JavaScript binding, OLOO concept.• Provided system support for warehouse stock check with in-house developed android application.

In June 2014, I was joined with mobile application team in order to deliver a rich experience of video streaming and shopping application at the same time.My early role was focus on iOS application, my contribution include:• Built a solid foundation iOS app (objective-c) from the ground up. Support iOS 6 and above.• Embed HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) implementation on iOS. Adaptive Bitrate supported for 6 profiles. • Implemented custom video advert client (VAST 3.0) on iOS.• Tackled memory consumption and optimization by Xcode Instruments.• Developed daily viewership report in bash.• Managed vendor’s product quality including India, China and Hong Kong region.• Provided disaster recovery support in early stage of HKTV caused by large amount (>200,000) of user viewing simultaneously.• Studied & Implemented e-commence platform built upon SAP Hybris (Spring underneath).
