General management and oversight of the technology infrastructure including user support, help desk services, telecommunications and networking, system services, and core application services such as email, content management systems and video services. Paramount to these are the administrative hardware and networking services that support the Ellucian Banner suite of administrative EPR applications. Support the CIO in strategic management of the campus (IT) by leveraging the Information Technology community to make more efficient and effective the campus’s technology investment in support of the research, teaching, learning and public service missions of the University.Maintain the highest standards in technology-acquisition practices, including developing lasting relationships with the technology vendor community and provides guidance in setting technology standards and is responsible for reviewing and approving technology requests from the campus at large.

Responsible for managing all activities of user services and core technical services units within the Office of Information Systems.

Responsible to oversee all functions related to the technology groups that reside in the Office of Information Systems. These three groups were made up of user support, server administration and telecommunications. Manage workflow of projects that process through these groups to achieve the goals of the University. Work with the user community to evaluate outcome and to refine issues that will make the end result more useful to the users and the academic community.

Responsible to oversee all data and voice network related operational and implementation issues. This includes the management of the University’s telecommunication financial and physical resources. Entailed management of existing physical infrastructure, migration/integration design, and support staff management. Required collaboration with the University Physical Plant to aid in planned infrastructure modifications of spaces for technology and communications expansion, also participated in additional collaboration to coordinate the identification of underground telecommunication facilities, prior to excavation.

Responsible to support and install network hardware that includes routers, switches, and firewalls. Maintain all network documentation and diagrams and manage network hardware inventory for annual support cost budgets. Manage the installation of new structured wiring systems in building renovations or modifications and serve as additional support for the University’s compressed video network.

Responsibilities included support of classroom-based computers and school servers. Provided technical support for the school districts student information system, which included: installation of software patches, operating system updates, consolidated backups of all data to the central office for off site backup and data analysis.
