I am Mrugesh Joshi, a mechanical engineer and a PhD research scholar at IIT Gandhinagar. The confluence of mathematics and engineering has captivated me since the beginning of my academic journey, and my love for programming has facilitated the development of my analytical and research skills.Throughout my academic career, I have cultivated a thorough understanding of advanced engineering subjects such as calculus, thermofluid sciences, and dynamics. Additionally, my programming expertise has allowed me to construct simulations and models that precisely emulate real-world physics.My research interests are centered on exploring energy-efficient desalination processes like reverse osmosis and air gap membrane distillation. In order to make these systems more environmentally sustainable and accessible to people residing in remote areas, I am keen on investigating innovative strategies to minimize energy and consequently overall cost of pure water production.Apart from my engineering pursuits, I am an avid musician and pianist. I have been playing the piano for many years and have even composed and arranged my own music. Music provides an avenue for me to channel my creativity and express myself in a manner that differs from my work in engineering. Nevertheless, my love for music has influenced my engineering approach, necessitating the same level of meticulous planning and attention to detail as when composing a piece of music. I also enjoy exploring the world of graphic design, UI design, and other forms of visual expression. My creativity and attention to detail are evident in all of my work, whether it's designing user interfaces for software applications or crafting sleek and modern product designs.I approach challenges from a multidisciplinary perspective because I know that the most elegant answers frequently emerge from combining ideas from various fields of study. My broad range of skill sets and passions enables me to adopt new strategies and develop novel solutions to complex problems.I'm excited to see where my distinct expertise and passions will take me. I strongly believe that by integrating my varied skillset, I can make a significant difference in academia and beyond.
