Energy Markets Engineer
• Conducts quantitative forecasting exercises to study electricity markets in the Philippines and analyze historical data on energy and commodity markets as determined by the needs of Retail Electricity Supply business. o Executes and modifies quantitative models for Short Term Energy Forecasts in aggregate level and bottom-up level forecasts with the use of BelVis Pro Energy Forecasting System – a software that uses advance forecasting methodologies such as: (1) Regression based methodologies of Exponential Smoothing, Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average with Exogenous Inputs (ARIMAX) and Multivariate Regression (2) Adaptive Logical Networks (ALN) and (3) Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) while also linking other necessary forecasting inputs in generation of Energy Forecasts such as: Customer’s Operation Schedule, Weather Parameters on Temperature, Wind Speed, Amount of Precipitation, Humidity and other weather information for developing accurate individual forecasts. o Executes and modifies quantitative models for Month Ahead Energy Forecasts, Year Ahead up to 5-Year Long Term Forecasts in aggregate level and bottom-up level forecasts based on the Retail Market inputs from Management, latest Retail Sales customer acquisition line-up, demand seasonality and trends in energy consumption of customers. • Prepares monthly report on Demand and Energy Sales on the customer portfolios to provide a comparative analysis regarding the significant changes in energy sales and demand of the customers between the current supply month and the previous supply month. • Prepares customer load profiling containing customer information and hourly load consumption to analyze the demand behavior and trends in energy consumption.
