Chairperson / Project Adviser / Tutor / Project Director Bang Edutainment)Bang Edutainment Dec 1998 - May 2013London, United KingdomCo founded, took on the role of chair for several years and worked at different stages as a Project Director andtutor on some of the courses, for a social enterprise and charity called BANG Edutainment. BANG works withyoung people using the arts, music, media and education to engage with, in particular, NEET young people. One of the projects I worked on was an early intervention project based on a replicated model from an organisa-tion called Extern in Northern Ireland and was called Strength2Strength. (S2S). The project worked with young people who may be known to police and provides activities for the young people and their families that addressthe risk factors surrounding the young person that may lead to involvement in crime. My role was to advise and co design a referral process for eligible children and young people from initial referralto evaluation. I also helped to design and develop the referral process from it's initial stages and was part of agroup that went to Extern in Northern Ireland to practically work out how the project would be replicated. I thenpassed on initial research and preliminary forms and processes to colleagues who would develop the project.I also helped to set up a successful radio project run by BANG called BANG Radio, the first legal community radiostation in North West London. In my role as Chair I was jointly responsible, with other trustees and CEO, for thestrategic direction and business and financial planning of the organisation.Since inception BANG, through the board of trustees, has managed a combination of grants and contractsworth over one million pounds. And has attracted grants/loans from Adventure Capital Fund (ACF) totalling over two hundred thousand pounds.
