As Department head of Business Finance and Risk Management department, I’m responsible for the ‘Procurement and Payables’ section for the Distribution Business Unit and support functions. As an efficient pre-audit, my department handles payment transactions amounting to more than PKR 500 million on a monthly basis and Procurement contracts in excess of PKR 10 billion annually. Major Responsibilities and Achievements includes:Business Controlling• Identify cost saving opportunities and efficiency gains• Ensure that the control framework captures and provides adequate mitigation of financial risksBusiness Process Improvement• Reviewed key business processes and suggest actions that result in business productivity gains.• Prepared and reviewed of SOPs to ensure a better control environment which does not result in unnecessary process delays Budgeting, Monitoring & Financial Control• Preparation of Revex & Capex budgets for the BU• Perform and track budget actual versus estimated cost, • Analyze, explain and anticipate the variances in projects to the project Leader.Contract Management• Liaison with Legal Department in drafting new contract agreements.• Periodic review of on‐going contract documents in accordance with corporate policy.• Analyzes significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms & conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedureMIS, Reporting & Payable Management• Prepare monthly reports, identifying the progress of ongoing projects and highlight issuesaddressed during the month.• Ensure robust financial reporting, providing both timely and accurate risk and opportunitiesreports and action plans to address those.Some major projects related to automation and strategic decision making highlighted in projects sections.

I was associated with Pak Grease for 3 years. As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), I reported directly to the Managing Director and the Board of Directors. As head the finance function of the organization, was involved in decision making in areas such as pricing and investments. I was also involved in preparation of financial feasibility (cash-flow projections) for prospective businesses. I reported to the Board of Directors on a quarterly for the presentation of the financial statements and other items to the Board Members.
