As a CTO at Saucal, I'm responsible for the quality of the work and growing the technical expertise of the team. Along the way, I'm also brought in to specific projects to contribute first hand from my expertise.Some of the projects i've worked on:- RADAR: Contributed the original concept for performance analysis in RADAR, Saucal’s proprietary audit and performance analysis tool. Played a key role in developing a comprehensive process for conducting performance audits, helping the team identify and resolve performance issues efficiently.- Quantum: Quantum is Saucal’s proprietary data hub, centralizing tools and data to track KPIs, gather insights, and support decision-making. I have been involved in the project since its early prototypes and currently oversee its architecture and continuous improvement, ensuring it adapts to evolving business needs.- Hello Mood: Enabled Hello Mood to double their revenue by implementing optimized server solutions, effectively resolving recurring site crashes during high-traffic sales events and ensuring a smoother, more reliable online experience.- Amazon Pay: Led a major refactor of the Amazon Pay payment gateway to align it with best practices within the WooCommerce ecosystem. This project, actively maintained by Saucal, enables thousands of merchants worldwide to efficiently process payments using Amazon Pay.- Craftpeak: Assisted Craftpeak in debugging and testing race condition scenarios on the WooCommerce platform. In the process, I developed tools that continue to be used by Saucal (as of 2024) for load testing websites and evaluating the performance of WooCommerce Managed hosting solutions.

As a Lead Software Engineer, I've contributed to the overal growth of the team over at Saucal, guiding the technical approach that the team takes to solve problems. I achieved this by creating frameworks and tooling, which help engineers follow best practices and solve problems quicker. I've also been the point man on generally more complex projects.Some project highlights from this position:- IgniteWP Framework: Currently defunct, this was our framework towards building WordPress themes, which helped us with common frontend related logic. This later evolved into a more robust boilerplate which we apply both to plugins and themes. (2013 - 2017)- PocketPOS: a Bitcoin POS built to interact with the API of the canadian bitcoin exchange, CaVirtEx. (2014)- UnderExposed Mashup Editor: Mashup editor built to be used in the browser. It makes use mostly of the PopcornJS library and jQuery. (2014 - 2015)- Corval Energy: Corval is a private company focused on light oil development in Manitoba. The website includes a secure login for shareholders to access private information. (2014 - 2015)

This is where my journey begins at Saucal. Worked on several WordPress sites implementations, mostly brochure sites, while also helping the company build and grow their Simplified CMS platform Mojito.Among the projects I've worked on in this position are:- Stack Modular: Helped build a new custom WordPress website with interactive modular builder, this is actually the first project i've worked with at Saucal. (2013 - 2015)- Mojito Sites: a heavily modified Wordpress environment. On the front end, a fully responsive custom theme with checkout. Upon checkout, a pre-filled Wordpress site is created. Inside of WP admin includes a totally customized dashboard, none of which affects WP core files. Users can switch themes seamlessly (without breaking) and manage their posts and pages in a way never yet seen inside of WordPress. (2013 - 2015)
