Hi, I'm Saad, a graduate from the University of Waterloo. My majors were stats & pure math, so very much a math nerd here. Here is my YouTube Channel if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/c/PureMathGuyMy last coop term was at Dogico where I was part of the RailVeyor project team. The objective was to stop cargo trains from derailing because of the presence of big rocks on tracks. This required us to be able to actually track the trains, which we were able to do via building 2 grayscale profiles of certain regions on trains: a profile corresponding to a train, and a profile corresponding to no train. I love using math to solve puzzles, and using data to solve real world problems where we do not even know which variables to consider, was a nice puzzle. Now I code in React and Go instead of Python.
