The goal of First Year Experience is to help incoming students as they make their transition from high school to college and to provide them with resources and skills they can utilize throughout their college career.As a Discussion Leader, I led weekly discussion sections in a small class setting and held regular office hours for my students. I was responsible for preparing weekly lesson plans and attended regular meetings with the course instructor to prepare course materials. This experience was very rewarding as it provided me with teaching experience and allowed me to connect with new students with whom I was able to share my knowledge and experience with.

At the Nordson fabrication shop in Vista, CA I learned about sheet metal fabrication processes such as machining, milling, punching, welding, and finishing. This experience allowed me to better understand the steps involved to manufacturing a part, and how the manufacturing process directly affects the design process.

I primarily assisted in video production for use in social media, advertising, and the company website. I collaborated with members of Marketing, Sales, and Engineering to assist in content creation, and it was through these diverse interactions that I gained a broader perspective as to how marketing and engineering work together within a tech company.
