About Alicia Day
I am very passionate about helping communities gain access to recreational options. I have worked in recreational field since 2005. This includes experiences in municipal, non-profit, and collegiate worlds. I have also worked with all ages, and in urban, suburban, rural, and wilderness areas. As the PRCE Director for the Town on Littleton, MA I am responsible for the success of the over all Parks, Recreation, and Community Education Department (PRCE). Our mission is to provide year-round high quality indoor and outdoor recreation activities for children and adults in Littleton and the surrounding communities. It is the mission of Littleton's PRCE to increase the quality of life while serving the citizens of Littleton. In the Collegiate realm I have had the great opportunity to teach classes and manage the outdoor adventure programs at both Coastal Carolina University and at Georgia Southern University. At Georgia Southern University I was in charge of running the rental center and the adventure trips program. This involved hiring, scheduling, and training 20 undergraduate students, maintaining the rental records in RecTrac purchasing, inventorying, and maintaining the outdoor equipment, and coordinating the trips and clinic schedules each semester. Also, having worked with combinations of faculty, university staff, and the student body has afforded me the unique knowledge of how to effectively work with different groups and has given me an inside understanding on how to navigate compromise and bring them together.I strongly believe in the powerful experiences that can be facilitated through experiential education. I have focused much of my career in outdoor pursuits, but I feel that positive outcomes can come from just about anywhere. It takes care, patience, and excitement in whatever you are leading to allow others a path towards personal growth and skill development.
