Currently working as Vice President Engineering – Cloud App Development and Maintenance. My primary responsibilities include,- Providing architectural guidance to multiple software development teams as they go through the various phases of software architecture design from conceptual abstraction to concrete implementation. - Designing and documenting solution architectures for a whole array of software projects. The spectrum includes front end web applications, backend REST APIs, server-less and server-based deployments in the cloud, on-prem setup of infrastructure and platform services as well as hybrid and cross-cloud implementations.- Leading the process of ideating and finalizing the technical proposals for pre-sales activities for both on-shore and off-shore customer leads.

I have been working at Systems Ltd. as Senior Managing Consultant since September 2019 till December 2022. During this period I have led multiple project deliveries. I owned the responsibility for conceptualizing, designing and refining the software solution architecture which meets both functional and non-functional requirements. I also drive the development and delivery operations which meet strict quality standards required for a successful signoff. A brief overview of some of the assignments completed is as follows. - A cutting-edge real-time stocks trading platform is currently being developed which is integrated with Pakistan Stock Exchange. The trading platform is showing real-time stock prices, account performance reports, exposure and portfolio calculations for each trader. The backend design is based on a robust, scalable and reliable microservices architecture. SignalR is powering the real time services while RabbitMQ is acting as the message broker between various microservices.- An advanced data visualization platform was developed to consume data generated by patient wearable devices. A data pipeline was setup to ingest, transform and store data generated by these devices. The visualization platform was developed using D3 to bring data to life using HTML, SVG, and CSS. D3 gave the freedom to design custom visualizations providing incisive insights which are not otherwise possible using conventional charting libraries.- A POC was developed for an election data processing and analytics system. The data was expected to be ingested at a medium level of throughput. The system needed a message processing technology which provided exactly-once processing guarantee. It needed to be fault tolerant in case of node or network failures. It also needed a mechanism to preserve and update state information. Various technologies including RabbitMQ, Kafka and Flink were analyzed for the given use cases and the results documented.

I offered services as Software Development Manager at RCAPPS (a division of RCA Ltd.) from July 2015 to February 2019. In this job role I had the responsibility for providing technology leadership and driving innovation while managing software projects and products. I had the key role of making the right choices in the rapidly evolving technology landscape and architecting engineering solutions which met both functional and non-functional requirements. - As an example of one of the solutions designed, I would like to briefly describe a mobile app designed to connect people so that they could play sports, exercise, or join new fitness groups. The various components of the application were developed using the PHP Zend Framework, MySQL, Node.js, Socket.io, iOS and Android. The proposed solution recommended using Amazon EC2 instances, Elastic Load Balancing, Launch Configurations, Auto Scaling Groups and CloudWatch alarms.- In another project I designed and developed a server less mobile backend using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, VPC and RDS for a multi-tenant SaaS application. The whole focus of the development team shifted to application code instead of having to think about provisioning, configuring and managing servers.

I offered services as Software Development Manager at SSASoft from March 2014 to June 2015. I was responsible for managing software engineering resources and planning software projects, while ensuring a smooth delivery pipeline. I provided strategic management and direction to the entire engineering team, and provided mentorship which enabled them to deliver quality and meet client expectation. A few of the important assignments are as follows.- An enterprise level Customer Relationship Management system was developed from scratch. A robust, scalable and secure system was created with a comprehensive set of features to meet the demands of both small and large organizations who are looking for an effective CRM system. A web-based solution was designed which was easily accessible without any installation required on the client side. The system allowed different types of users to store and manage data related to customers, contacts, leads, opportunities, projects, tasks, activities, campaigns, documents, products and quotations.- I worked on the development of an advanced SMS marketing platform designed to add convenience, ease and efficiency to effectively deliver communications. It allowed customers to trigger their campaigns immediately or schedule minute-by-minute, hourly, daily, monthly and yearly messages. The system allowed sending of high volumes of mobile messages in bulk to reach targeted customers.

I offered services as Software Development Manager at Accsoft from July 2011 to July 2013. I was responsible for the organizational planning and operational management of all software development activities being carried out at the Lahore office, including solution design, estimation, development, testing, and implementation. My team was involved in developing web based and desktop applications using .NET and PHP. We also worked on projects involving deployment and customization of Microsoft Dynamics GP. Some of the important projects are presented below. - As an example of the work delivered, I would like to briefly describe an implementation of a connector application between Magento and Microsoft Dynamics GP, which allowed seamless integration of the two feature rich applications. The applications were able to interact and exchange a wide variety of data. The objective was to realize the benefits of an integrated e-commerce and ERP platform by having a higher return on investment. The first version of the connector took care of the flow of information related to products, categories, customers, customer groups, multiple customer addresses, customer credit limits, sale orders, invoices and price levels.- I worked on the development of a web-based .NET application which automated employee recognition programs and service awards. The redemption portal allowed for a customizable branded interface combined with a wide range of features to efficiently engage, track and reward employees. The portal was fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP. The portal was divided into three sections for three different types of users. These included Super Administrators, Company Administrators and Company Employees. Each section provided a comprehensive set of features to ensure that the application fully conformed to the client’s business model.
