Alexis T. Thompson is a Mechanical Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, and Business Management student at the University of Michigan. Her focus is in sustainability, social enterprise, and renewable energy technologies. She is a former Project Engineering Intern at Walker-Miller Energy Services and United States Gypsum. Ms. Thompson serves as Co-President of GRID Alternatives Students for Sustainable Energy at the University of Michigan. During her leadership, the team successfully executed numerous national/international community solar projects to promote environmental responsibility, sustainability, and social justice. In addition to her professional portfolio, she is also an Internationally Certified Solar PV Designer & Installer through White House Solar. Furthermore, Alexis is currently a GRID Alternatives Clean Mobility Equity Research Fellow, OptiMize Fellow, and Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) Climate Policy Fellow. The core of her passion is to empower communities through the advancement of renewable energy and sustainable technology.
