About Mario Santana

I am a former United States Marine with many years of experience in leadership, skill based training, customer service, administrative duties and compiling detailed fact based reports. As a CBRN trainer I have instructed groups as large 400 individuals in important skills such as proper wear of survival equipment and some of the tactics needed to survive in a contaminated environment.Until recently I was a Mixed Martial Arts Consultant and head of the conditioning program for Spartan Fitness MMA LLC in Birmingham, Al. This position relied heavily upon a high degree of customer service and adaptation to unique challenges presented by a diverse membership. In this role I assisted in guiding numerous members toward achieving their fitness goals on multiple fronts, which in turn helped my employer maintain an increased stream of revenue.I consider myself open to new ideas to achieving required results, but arguably my most important attribute is my patience. This does not mean I am passive or do not value the importance of time management. The fact remains that deadlines must be met to deliver a high quality product to the client. I spend a lot of time in pursuit of understanding the business and the audience, wherein patience factors heavily into the end result.I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Birmingham Southern College, which among many things granted me a solid understanding of research methodology and critical analysis. Recently I have begun studying Cyber Security at UMUC with the intention of understanding the critical threats organizations and infrastructure will face in the 21st century. My ultimate goal is to become an expert in reducing and combating against all forms of threats, from physical to online. I can be reached through this profile or by phone at 205-243-7133.

Cbrn Defense Specialist

As a Chemical, Biological, Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) defense specialist in the United States Marine Corps I have the pleasure and responsibility of preparing fellow service members on how to properly protect themselves from the worst effects attributed to Weapons of Mass Destruction. The information passed down from myself, as a subject matter expert, include how to identify a possible attack, perform immediate decontamination, recognize symptoms of affected personnel, avoid contaminated areas and continue operations in a contaminated area as per Marine Corps and Department of Defense standards. I have taught groups as small as 20 and larger than 200 personnel and due to this fact I feel confident in my ability to instruct or train military or civilian groups. I currently hold a secret clearance from the United States Marine Corps and have been serving in the Active Reserve since the end of tour of Active Duty in 2010. During my time on active duty I attended the Radiological Emergency Technician Operations Course (RET Ops), a school detailing how to conduct on site management of a WMD event or disaster in both rural and urban environments. I also worked closely with my battalion's intelligence section to keep abreast of the current WMD threats CONUS and OCONUS while deployed in support of Iraqi Freedom during 2008 - 2009. Since being with the reserve I have traveled to many different sites in support of Anti Terrorism Battalion based in Bessemer, Alabama. These sites included Florida, Alaska, New York and Louisiana. in every circumstance I was the only CBRN defense specialist in attendance and thus had to work independently to ensure training was conducted and information was passed on. Perhaps most importantly I had to maintain high standards of behavior and appearance due to being a direct representative of higher headquarters.
