As the Chief Technologist for our Public Sector UK business, I work alongside our Solutions Architecture and Sales organization, engaging with our most strategic customers and partners. Along with my global peers, we identify key customer needs for the AWS Public Sector business and work with AWS Service Teams (Engineering, Product Management etc.) to address them where we see opportunities to drive high impact change and accelerate AWS adoption. I take an active role in mentoring other Solution Architects, including a formal role as a feedback provider in the Amazon Promotion mechanism.

I established, grew and managed a diverse team made up of Sellers, Business Development, Solutions Architects and a Data Scientist. We worked with the AWS Public Sector field sales organisation to drive adoption of services across a number of specific domains that included: AI/ML, IoT, Analytics, Storage, Databases and Contact Center. My team and I were accountable for the service aligned revenue and adoption targets for the AWS EMEA Public Sector business.

I had a strong focus in this role on scaling our Solutions Architecture team for the Public Sector, from a handful of individuals by over 400%. Covering all the AWS Public Sector aligned businesses spanning Health, Education, Non-Profit, Government (Local and Central) and National Security & Public Safety. Developing approaches to maximizing our impact through 1:1, 1:few and 1:many customer and partner engagement.

I led a team of Architects, as the Principal Solution Architect in the EMEA region. My role involved taking a leading role in the architectural design for new sales and delivery projects. My team and I also worked closely with our Engineering/R&D and Delivery teams to ensure customer satisfaction.I took the lead on critical projects, including a major European Smart metering deployment where Itron provided the AMI/MDM Software and consulting services.

With a focus on the Itron & Actaris suite of products & systems, specifically related to communicating/smart meters in both the C&I an AMI markets. I support the sales team and support staff through bids and campaigns. It is my task to ensure that the customer’s business and technology requirements are mapped to solutions that can be implemented cost efficiently in the company's data centres. I also play a key role in maintaining and developing the crucial link between the company and our partners, pro actively supporting lead generation and upgrade opportunities. I am internationally involved, in the generation of formal proposal responses and RFP coordination. I also play a supporting role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of sales tools and template documents.

I led the development of Actaris' flagship Smart Metering Advanced Metering Infrastructure system. Working with customers, sales teams and the engineering teams to deliver cutting edge, scalable capabilities for some of the first Smart Metering deployments (mostly in the Nordics).
