My work in this lab focuses on social media and their application to libraries and other information-oriented work settings. I am particularly interested in the knowledge sharing stories via blogs created by entrepreneurs and small business owners. Work done so far includes:• Theorizing how blogs function as information sources, as well as how libraries can use blogs to provide an information service that connects patrons to knowledge sharing stories shared on the Web.• Conceptualizing alternative ways to present information in library online catalogues in a more narrative format

My work in this lab has been focused on virtual/artificial intelligent conversational agents with applications to libraries and other information-oriented work settings. My work here includes:• Researching blogs as information sources that connect entrepreneurs to knowledge sharing stories created and shared on the Web by other entrepreneurs and small business owners.• Conceptualising a system for making relevant blog posts more accessible to users through conversational interaction with virtual/artificial intelligent conversational agents.

• Operated reference services online and face to face to students and faculty, including disseminating information to faculty• Purchased and ordered materials for the departmental library collection, • Delivered bibliographic/library instruction to students Accomplishments/achievements include:• Spearheaded the redesign and development of the department’s new Website.• Created the Department’s Facebook page and presence - through which the Department is able to send news and updates and promote itself and its public events to alumni, friends and other Facebook users (September – December 2008).• Maintained the department’s Facebook presence (2008-2011)• Spearheaded the digitization of the department’s photograph collection, creating a digital archive for department photographs. (2007-2008)• Modified the department’s logo to a more modern look (2008)• Published the department’s first issue of its electronic-newsletter, "DLIS Connect", which was circulated to 400+ persons (February 2008)• Secured copyright clearance for scanning newspaper clippings from the Jamaica Gleaner and the Jamaica Observer for both the university library and the department (2008). • Co-lectured Library Automation course (LS25A/LIBS2501) for the Department of Library and Information Studies, Bachelors’ programme. Topics taught include: Database Design, Database Industry and Software for Management applications in Libraries and Information Services (January – May 2008 & 2009)• Facilitated training for new students in Information Literacy (Sept- November. 2007)
