Scott Edwards brings 20+ years of experience in security, compliance, business, systems engineering and training Summit 7. As CEO of Summit 7, he is building a recognized leader in the Security, Compliance and Cloud Services space by combining the best project management methodologies a deep understanding Microsoft Cloud Architectures, and CMMC / DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171 / 800-53. Through his leadership, Summit 7 has been recognized by Microsoft 3 times as Partner of the Year or Finalist in Security and Compliance as well as being on the Inc 5000 for 9 years. Summit 7 provides innovative security and compliance capabilities to help Defense and Federal contractors achieve business, security and compliance goals through improved use of cloud based technologies. As the Executive Director of MSPs for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure, Scott’s focus is on uniting key players to fortify the IT systems that underpin our nation's critical infrastructure sectors. Leveraging his expertise in Managed IT and Security Services, Scott advises on pivotal policy and technical strategies, enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure against emerging threats.Before launching Summit 7, Scott spent 6 and a half years working for SAIC and CSC as a Senior Computer Engineer and as the NASA Datacenter Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager. Prior to his civilian career, Scott served as an Officer in the US Army Signal Corps with both the 2-227th Aviation Battalion in Bosnia-Herzegovina and 1-6 Air Defense Artillery Battalion in Fort Bliss, Texas. Scott's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Military Academy, West Point, and a Master of Science in Computer Science (Information Assurance) from the National Security Agency program at James Madison University. These diverse degrees give Scott a breadth of knowledge which has served him and his customers well.
