Working on software to support exciting medical testing technologies

Bonterra is one of the largest social good companies in the country. I was responsible for the Fundraising and Engagement business line, having grown it at NGP VAN / EveryAction over ten years from a small part of company revenue to a $100M ARR enterprise-class set of applications. I was proud to lead multiple resourceful and innovative development teams that focus on email (over 30 billion emails sent in 2022), online forms, and payments (handling tens of thousands of transactions per hour).

NGP VAN makes software for progressive political campaigns and non-profits. I am in charge of the Engineering teams in our DC office.

PRODUCT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT-Founded and led development teams responsible for nCompass and RPM Dashboards-Designed overall system architecture and performance and scalability testing infrastructure-Directed day-to-day software development design and implementationPROJECT MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCT SUPPORT-Manage complete project lifecycle, including: requirements gathering; functional and implementation designs; development; code reviews; demonstrations and training; testing; bug fixing; deployment; documentation; and support-Work directly with company President and CTO to define product roadmap-Train field and support staff through demos and internal documentation-Develop and provide technical support, including: working with customers to enable and improve their effective use of products; troubleshooting customer software issues-Produce documentation, including: organizing; drafting; editing; and reviewing product manuals and guides-Coordinate product development and support between multiple organizations: Marketing, Professional Services, and Technical Support teamsPERSONNEL MANAGEMENT-Lead team of 10-15 software and QA engineers in their day-to-day activities -Develop employees, including recruiting, hiring, training, goal-setting, providing evaluations and feedbackMARKETING-Work directly with CEO and Executive Management to identify and review market needs, competitors, and product improvement targets-Develop industry-facing material for Gartner analysts and Industry Advisory Board-Demonstrate products; conduct customer seminars and workshops-Solicit customer feedback via demos and on-site visits-Propose, scope and plan product offerings and enhancements to meet customer needs

One of the original developers on OPNET's nCompass product (formerly called "NETCOP"), our solution for real-time network performance monitoring and visualization. Originally started as a one-off consulting project for the government, I led the team that turned into a generally available product that was one of the key offerings in OPNET's NetOne suite for Network Engineering, Operations, and Planning. At its peak, there were approximately 20 software developers actively working on nCompass, and I was responsible for overseeing their working, reviewing system and software designs, and creating, supporting, and maintaining software releases.Much of the technology from nCompass was used as a foundation for RPM Dashboards, our web-based Application and Network Performance Monitoring solution. I currently lead a team of about 12 engineers that are responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining RPM Dashboards releases. RPM Dashboards serves as a the face of many Riverbed Performance Management products, and as such it is a high visibility, critical offering for our business unit.
