Overview: As part of a specially selected cohort, I helped create a new, experimental work model. Global Zero merged with another NGO, implemented that model, and recruited me to support the transition for staff and build a new public identity. • As a member of the senior leadership team, I created updated messaging, narrative, and branding for a newly reimagined Global Zero, then managed, mentored, and individually media trained 12 staff as more effective public spokespeople. • Built systems incorporating Asana, Slack, GSuite, Action Network, and WordPress to develop, manage, and receive appropriate approval on 100+ types of organizational content including media outreach, rapid response communications, email copy, social media graphics, video, events, panels, reports, & others to reach target audiences.

Overview: I joined NTI, at the time a very traditional office staffed by many former government officials with no previous history of remote work, as the COVID-19 pandemic raged. As part of the 8-person communications team, I was embedded with three out of five policy programs to provide dedicated strategic communications counsel and hands-on support. • Guided the Global Nuclear Policy, Nuclear Materials Security, and Science & Technical Affairs teams on communications work including vendor management, report production, social media assets, videos, emails, and rapid response outreach. • Coordinated across the 70-person organization, with everyone from CEO former U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz to program leads and administrative staff, to successfully design, market, and execute 12+ high-level virtual Zoom events.• Co-managed the intern program, overhauling the entire system to make applicant selection more equitable and diverse.

Overview: Starting as an associate, I was steadily promoted through the ranks to lead my team. As essentially a non-profit communications firm, my job was to work with 100s of NGOs dealing with issues of war and peace, from nuclear weapons to the Pentagon budget, providing sector-wide trend-tracking, strategic communications guidance, and media consulting. • Conducted 100+ media trainings, messaging workshops, and public opinion panels, teaching policy experts, advocates, Congressional staff, journalists, and legislators how to effective translate complex topics to achieve desired policy goals.• Led media outreach and rapid response crisis communications resulting in media hits in major news outlets including The Washington Post, USA Today, Bloomberg, Axios, VICE, CNN, Yahoo News, WSJ, The Guardian, POLITICO, & more. • Executed innovative strategies and built original trainings to amplify the voices of women and women of color in the media, ultimately crafting and running 4 multi-day all women trainings to achieve more equitable representation.
