Currently I grow and sustain community partnerships and key relationships to increase the organization’s profile and stature as a leading voice for disadvantaged communities. I oversee a $3M operating budget across 5 programs, lead a cross-functional team of 15+, and am fully accountable for all departmental operations, including establishing priorities, grant reporting, and program oversight.🔹 KEY FOCUS AREAS:➽ Collaborated cross-functionally with other members of the senior leadership team, advising on strategic decisions and providing overall leadership, vision, and direction for the Advocacy and Community Relations divisions. ➽ Partnered directly with executive team to communicate organization’s commitment, practices, programs, and insight and learnings to influence policy and positively impact the community. ➽ Served as a subject matter expert in propelling equity throughout programs and services. ➽ Acted as a liaison with school districts, community leaders, police departments, legislative staff, government agencies, partner associations, college partners, funders, and business leaders.🔸 NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:➽ Secured a 1-year grant, valued up to $25K, to fund the Raise the Age initiative and engaged a small group of youth activists in participating in the criminal justice system reform process, contributing to the passing of new legislation. ➽ Managed a 5-year grant, valued up to $1.5M, for the Promise Project, which provided supplementary services and support to students, aged 12 to 15, in the areas of education, after-school programs, STEM, nutrition, and language-based learning for non-English-speaking learners. Funding and program supported 50 students per year and allowed for a dedicated team of 10 staff members.

I was chosen to lead a team of 10 to 15 staff members in developing and overseeing multiple parent–child and youth-centric programs. Serving in a Director role placed the responsibility of ensuring program quality, efficient operations, and compliance with all regulatory and funding requirements squarely on my shoulders.🔹 KEY FOCUS AREAS:➽ Managed program budgets, up to $3M, tracking expenses across 3 locations and 5 programs, and compiled, analyzed, and presented operational and performance reports. ➽ Hired and trained staff with an emphasis on establishing a positive and enthusiastic culture and generating cross‐functional alignment with a clear vision and mission. ➽ Excelled at collaborating with partners, stakeholders, and staff members to define and drive top-tier service delivery. ➽ Served as a thought leader and represented the agency, its programs, and its mission when participating in key meetings with government agencies, funders, partners, and like-minded organizations. ➽ Monitored client and program outcomes to ensure integrity of service models and to address areas of concern.🔸 NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:➽ Created Youth Advisory Council (YAC), a group comprising 25 to 30 high school aged servant-leaders dedicated to empowering and fostering youth leadership, service-learning, diversity, and educational growth and achievement. ▪️ Facilitated annual outreach and awareness events, as well as established partnerships and mentorship programs with community organizations, such as Hispanic Civics Association, Community Engagement Team, Operation Get Ahead, Senior Division, local churches, Hempstead Chamber of Commerce, and Nassau County Minority Affairs. ▪️ Assisted and mentored students on accessing resources and scholarships for college. ▪️ Program has served over 1,200 students since its inception and has since merged with the mayor’s office’s existing youth council program.

I transitioned to organize an after-school program committed to tutoring and mentoring middle-school aged youth and advocating for and supporting students who would benefit from special education services. As a primary means of engagement, we facilitated academic, sports, cultural arts, and other enrichment activities.________________________________________

I joined the Family and Children’s Association in 2000 as a Group Home Supervisor and promoted to Case Manager and then again to Program Supervisor. Until 2007 I oversaw counselor case management and community outreach efforts, as well as advocated for youth and families throughout the educational and criminal/family court systems. As a program leader I was fully accountable for the program’s success, integrity, and compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.

I serve as a Facilitator for the Energeia for Teens program at Molloy College where I work with participants to translate their strengths and creativity into community service learning projects and empower them through exposure to diverse perspectives, experiences, and opportunities.
