Within the space of two years the volume of work coming into the design team has increased so much that we’ve expanded the number of designers from three to six. In showcasing to the organisation my capabilities, I proved my abilities to work on large projects under time pressures and maintain a high level of creativity and professionalism. I demonstrated these abilities by working on such campaigns as annual budget announcements, annual reports, multiple bid proposals, and other high profile media opportunities. I have been responsible for producing both corporate and creative collateral items across a range of different mediums. These have included many types of print materials, both for internal and external consumption, vehicle signage, information and interpretive signs across council owned locations, pylon signs and structured banners. During my time within council I demonstrated time after time my ability to stand up and put myself forward for challenges and tasks, knowing that I will give it my all and create an outcome that will not only be creative, but hit the brief, be delivered on time and cultivate positive relationships. Bigger projects including a bi-monthly 64 page glossy magazine and the redesign and maintenance of the company website ensure these new member targets are reached and increased. I am also responsible for the weekly electronic communications out to the AMA Queensland membership. Timely and often in-depth newsletters these emails are sent frequently, needing careful attention and coordination. Print items including 400 page directories, student guides and signage requirements are also taken care of with exceptional attention to detail and creative vision. During the last year with AMA Queensland I have unified the brand and brought it up to speed with current industry standards, implemented and minimised internal processes for better efficiency and created high end marketing and promotional materials that have led to an increase in member growth. While employed at Sunrise Designs I was the sole graphic designer for the company, which due to the nature of the small studio meant that I also needed to be able multi-task; often answering phones, conducting meetings and preparing quotes in the same half hour. While at Sunrise Designs I became very adept at dealing directly with clients, both in person and on the phone. Due to this, and my ability to understand and apply their design needs, I developed a large and loyal client base. I also learnt how to prepare designs and files for signage applications, as the sister company of Sunrise Designs was Sumner Signs. I regularly designed artwork for vehicles, shop fronts and signs of all shapes and materials. In this capacity I completed mulitple signage needs for ‘Settlers Cove’, both in the estate and for the sales office on Hastings Street. Add to this my daily involvement in corporate branding and logo design, print advertising and publishing, and my knowledge base grew enormously and very quickly. Show less
