About Matt Shafer
I enrolled at the University of South Carolina with the idea of graduating and becoming either the chubby and slightly more charismatic version of Joe Rogan or the chubby and slightly better-selling version of Stephen King, both of which turned out to be a little past my abilities. I realized this about the same time that the federal grant which funded my human resources position with the Columbia Housing Authority ran out, and I sought solace from the twin evils of disappointment and unemployment by beginning a career in healthcare staffing. I had no idea that healthcare staffing was even a thing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that not only was it a thing, but that it was a thing I enjoyed and was good at. I enjoy the challenge of finding the proper fit for my healthcare professionals; beyond that, however, I love meeting and building relationships with the individual people behind the resumes. I've been blessed beyond belief to have met some of the most interesting people in the world through this job; I consider it my privilege to be able to help them find the right fit.When I'm not working with my nurses and clients, you will probably find me volunteering with my church's youth group, working on my latest writing project, or obsessing over the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe news.
