Maureen has over twenty five years of experience in public policy development, lobbying, and regulatory analysis. In her current position, responsibilities expanded to include communications and social media, including developing and designing a successful newsletter that is a major member benefit. Focusing on advocacy, legislative and regulatory priorities, Maureen has implemented successful advocacy campaigns, including promoting institutional closure in the state, and worked within coalitions to achieve objectives, including a statewide campaign to raise wages of direct care workers. Effective education and lobbying of government officials to raise Medicaid rates for providers in the state and implementation of member interaction with legislators have increased advocacy effectiveness and policy maker relationships at the state level. Collaborating with national affiliate to defeat regulatory proposals and move congressional proposals to actively engage in national issues on behalf of members. Maureen has worked for some of the State’s largest associations and business entities serving as Director of Political Affairs for the New Jersey Association of REALTORS, Political Action and Policy Manager for the Medical Society of New Jersey and held senior policy analyst positions for Jersey Central Power and Light and the New Jersey Schools Boards Association. She has also worked in the Governor’s Office of Constituent Relations under Governor Jim Florio. In her various capacities, Maureen has directed numerous advocacy campaigns many of which resulted in the enactment of legislation including Meghan’s Law, the Well Testing Act, the Real Estate Seller Disclosure Act and education reform. She has also engaged in extensive lobbying of New Jersey’s State legislature and Congressional delegation, lectured before national organizations on political action fundraising strategies, written extensively in trade publications, and spoken before numerous audiences on various legislative and regulatory matters. Maureen has also spearheaded grassroots campaigns and statewide candidate interview and endorsement processes.Maureen earned her B.A. in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, and has earned a graduate education certificate from Rider University.
