Work includes maintenance/monitoring (Dell Folight/vFoglight, HP SIM, miscellaneous/manual tools,) new environment build-out, hardware/software specification, procurement/TCO analysis, and overall direction for all platforms. Responsible for short and long term technical objectives pertaining to hypervisor, storage/fabric and compute platforms.Management of a team of 5 engineers to provide consistent coverage & service levels for all platforms: HP blade servers utilizing Virtual Connect FlexFabric converged networking/storage fabric, EMC & HP storage arrays, liaison to network team for hand-off of traditional ethernet networking to datacenter networking groups, creation of IP and VLAN management strategy.Participation in on-call rotation and off-hours critical outage response, final technical escalation point for troubleshooting a dynamic, 24x7 environment with clients in all regions of the US & Canada. Extensive rebuild and reengineering of many systems in response to imminently failing legacy technology; consistently coordinated and participated in foundational technology refresh projects in accordance with near-zero downtime requirements.Regularly interfaced with application/data owners to assure systems architecture designs met all business requirements and drivers; excellent written and verbal communications skills. effective internal and external business communication.
