About Md. Saiful Islam
Md. Saiful Islam is a PhD student at the Department of International Health, with the concentration of Social and Behavioral Interventions, at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He previously worked in the Rohingya Response where he was involved in conducting surveillance (led by UNFPA) to monitor maternal health. Earlier, he also worked on several research projects at the Health System and Population Studies Division, icddr,b, and also completed his internship in Mental Health.He is enthusiastic about research activities and eager to collaborate in epidemiological research. He is currently serving as an Academic Editor in the PLoS ONE journal. He published over 70 articles in reputed international journals and worked on 7 global epidemiological surveys as a collaborator from Bangladesh. He received a grant as a part of the National Science & Technology Fellowship for the purpose of Master of Public Health (MPH) thesis. His research interest focuses largely on epidemiological investigation in terms of maternal health, NCDs, mental health, and behavioral sciences.He involves in several social works along with voluntary activities. He was Cadet In-charge and Cadet Sergeant of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), Jahangirnagar University. He was the 4th General Secretary of Consumer Youth of Bangladesh, Jahangirnagar University. In addition, he worked with student-oriented organizations including Public Health Forum, and Barishal Divisional Students Welfare Association.
