About Matt Silvers
I am a serial deal facilitator, unrelentingly focused on the intersection of location, brand and top line potential. Although I practiced environmental and transactional law for quite a few years to start my career, the allure of bringing people, ideas, concepts and opportunities together for a living was far too compelling. I left a promising legal career behind to become what I like to call a "professional purveyor of opportunity." It just fits.I have built a successful career effectively connecting the dots as a principal, managing broker, operator and investor between real estate/business wants and needs, people and concepts -- and delivering results at the highest possible level both in a professional and executive capacity. I am passionate about truly transcendent/resonant consumer brands and consumer-facing real estate concepts, and have amassed significant experience in site selection, retail development, residential, mixed-use and adaptive reuse development, land acquisitions, asset “up-cycling" and general business deal-making and operations as a principal and on behalf of select brands and developers. One of my true professional passions is scaling up a business that requires real estate to grow. I also maintain a high level of Spanish language proficiency -- just in case. In presiding over the rollout of concepts like the now well-established Flix Brewhouse brand, I have been afforded the opportunity to coalesce virtually all of my professional strengths and passions into a singularly satisfying bundle. I’ve also been able to draw on various “soft skill” attributes cultivated through my rather diverse background to offer more in the workplace than the sum of my professional parts might suggest. Empathy, humility, compassion, ceaseless curiosity and approachability (among others) are a big part of my DNA and I’ve received a nice return on time invested in colleagues, teammates, and direct reports as a result. When I’m not on the clock, I spend time thinking about real estate and business ideas, branding brainstorms, gardening, figuring out ways to help those who are less fortunate, hiking and generally enjoying as much time as I can exploring my adopted home town, Austin, TX with my family.
