Oversaw public relations and advertising accounts for one of Indiana’s largest full-service agencies with offices in Bloomington and Indianapolis. Responsibilities included developing strategic communication plans to accomplish client business goals, crisis and reputation management consulting, strategic messaging, organizing press conferences and promotional events, media relations and writing. Provided direction to junior account staff, media planners/buyers and creative teams. Managed intern program for Bloomington office. Clients included commercial construction & real estate, wastewater, economic development, healthcare, logistics and many other industries.Key accomplishments:- Provided crisis and reputation management consulting that resulted in decreasing negative coverage for clients on such issues as environmental contamination, perpetual care trust raiding, hospital/insurance negotiation battles, illegally harvested cadaver tissue, employee embezzlement, corporate fraud, sensitive corporate mergers and acquisitions and accidental death. - Oversaw multi-year effort to elevate the brand and profile of the nation’s second largest cured-in-place pipe technology company. Tactics included trade advertising campaign development and media buys; collateral, web site, video and animation development; and writing contributed articles for wastewater and municipal trade magazines. - Launched introduction of a 10-story mixed-use development located on a blighted property. The project included strategy, messaging, organizing a press event, pre- and post-event media coverage, coordinating b-roll and event visuals, media training for executives, and a temporary web site. Initial event earned 40 regional print and TV news media hits while minimizing negative coverage of the property’s problematic environmental history. Phase II included branding, advertising and promotional activities. Efforts led to 70 percent occupancy the first year, and 95 percent the second year.
