Design, Optimization, Manufacturing and Control of a novel 2-DOF Pointing Mechanism

Motorization and control of satellite antenna with industrial servo motors and LabView software.- Designed a reliable and robust mechanism to motorize various movements of the antenna pointing.- Designed the drive train components for multiple axis of the mechanism to meet the dynamic requirements.- Led the manufacturing process of additional parts to be added to the original device.- Designed the control box and panel in which the electrical components were installed.- Installed and tested out the electrical and control equipment.

The project aims to build a fully automated assembly line for a multi-part plastic product. It incorporates mechanical mechanisms and electronic control systems for the automatic feeding of parts, sorting, and adjusting their orientation using mechanical constraints and computer vision. The assembly operations include rotation, pressing, gripping, and vibrating, with the assembled products transferred through various stations along the assembly line.- Led the assembly automation R&D team for a 14-part injection pen using a modular and innovative approach, resulting in fast and cheap development of automated assembly solutions.- Interviewed, trained and monitored over seven junior members of the team to take charge of different software and hardware tasks of the project.- Organized ordering and purchasing of necessary parts and components from domestic and international markets.- Provided regular updates and reporting documents on project progress, team members' performance and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

- Utilized Raspberry Pi and Arduino platforms and Python and C programming languages as the main control hardware and software for controlling of assembly line operations.- Developed the algorithms and codes for the desired functions of the machine, and integration and communication of involved devices and units using communication protocols like I2C, Serial, SPI, and etc.- Led the selection and integration of electrical components and circuitry essential for optimal device performance.- Led the installation and wiring of control equipment.- Developed a native firmware for the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040 microcontroller) using C, implementing a machine vision classification algorithm to detect the orientation of plastic parts. This improved system simplicity and enhanced modularity.- Developed a web-based data logger which collected and stored operational data from the assembly machine.- Led the development of a web-based Human-Machine Interface (HMI) using Flask framework, providing the machine operators with a comprehensive monitoring and control interface, accessible remotely via the local network.

- Designed and manufactured innovative mechanisms for part handling and assembly, employing the agile prototyping methodology.- Used a blend of rapid-prototyping-friendly materials like aluminum, plexiglass, 3D printed components, t-slot bars, integrating them with diverse electronic and pneumatic actuators, all while upholding reliability and performance standards.- Documented all processes of the design and manufacturing phases, including CAD files for future debugging and utilization.

As a team of four engineering graduates who built devices and instruments for iron ore processing and mining plants, I was responsible for mechanical design of the devices and electrical systems.The most complex project was the design and manufacturing of a ball milling machine ordered by an activated carbon production company. It consisted of a hopper, a spiral feeder, a rotating drum with special rubber lining inside and the electrical control system and motors.

The goal was to design and manufacture a single-seater formula-style race car to compete in the Formula Student UK 2018 competition as the first Iranian competitor.I was involved in different design tasks of the car such as the space-frame tubular chassis and the composite carbon fiber body parts. I was also responsible for the logistic preparations of the team’s trip to the UK and took part in the competition in July 2018 at Silverstone race track, North Hampton Shaire, UK.

I was mainly involved in the design and manufacturing stages of PGSC IV solar EV which took part in the 2017 World Solar Challenge in Australia. This engineering competition is held every two years and includes technical inspection of participating cars according to the rules and a 3000-kilometer racing event across the Australian continent.During the PGSC IV project, I was responsible for various tasks such as: • design and manufacturing of the lambo-door mechanism and plug-in cover mechanism• fabrication of the composite carbon fiber chassis and body parts and installing suspension and steering parts on the chassis• manufacturing of the temporary dashboard and driver’s instruments panel and design of the final cluster panel • design and fabrication of the battery pack boxes• fabrication of the windshields• installing the sticker wrap• analyzing the race path slope for optimization of the racing strategy considering minimum energy usage• workshop and tools maintenance• supplying the needed tools and materials for other teams from our supplier companies

I was also responsible for media activities of the team such as:• Capturing and documentation of different activities carried out by the team • Broadcasting team events like the WSC 2017 in Australia and Khazar to Khalij tour (presenting the team’s previous car – PGSC III in seven cities across Iran and testing the upgraded version of the car in domestic roads) on social media platforms• Supplying the sponsorship team with marketing material• Launch of the team’s new website and keeping it updated• Organizing the unveiling ceremony of our car

I was responsible for monitoring the KPIs of international wholesale VOIP phone lines and taking the necessary technical measures for the best performance of the routes.

I was responsible for communication with our customers and providers to resolve the technical issues.

I was responsible for quick service repair jobs and development of educational material for servicemen training courses in auto mechanics. Persia Khodro is BMW’s sales and services provider in Iran.

I was responsible for reception of customers’ cars and basic repair jobs of suspension system. IKCo is the largest vehicle manufacturer in central Asia.
