Tweed Shire Council is a regional NSW local government with a diverse urban, coastal and rural landscape. The Community and Cultural Services team alongside service delivery, delivered social planning and community development to address significant social issues impacting regional areas. The Social Planning role has cross division responsibilities addressing cultural, social, environmental and economic gaps to improve outcomes for individuals and communities. My role delivered the following social planning and community development outcomes:- Complex review of Council’s first homelessness policy.- Delivered new Homelessness Policy v2.0.- Facilitated review of Tweed Shire Housing and Homelessness Network Strategic Plan.- Advocated for funding to address significant increase in rough sleeper population. In a collaborative approach, secured 1.8 million to targeted outreach funding for the local government area.- Delivered significant community engagement and developed communication tools around complex technical information on community infrastructure.- Developed Community Facilities Plan – a strategic plan for delivery of community infrastructure for the next 20 years.- Co-wrote draft Affordable, Attainable and Appropriate Housing Policy Statement.- Strong advocate for affordable housing outcomes for community.- Delivered community engagement on service, resource, infrastructure and community development strengths and gaps for Tweed Shire.- Led and participated in many stakeholder forums pertaining to homelessness, affordable housing, social planning and community development.- Delivered many reports to Council on complex social issues.- Delivered many submissions including homelessness, affordable housing, drug and alcohol, child safety amongst others.- Co-facilitated funding applications.- Developed social impact assessment tool for internal use. - Team member of a strong, dynamic and inspirational community development team.

Port Phillip is the local government for Melbourne’s inner south bayside area. Integrated Family Services is a State Government-funded program for at risk and vulnerable children, young people and families that sits within the Council’s Family, Youth and Children’s Services Department. My team runs this program. I led a team to deliver complex case management for the Integrated Family Services program.• Oversaw a multidisciplinary and multiskilled team delivering complex and dual case management in integrated planning with statutory Child Protection.• Provided professional supervision of staff.• Participated actively, as one of twelve Alliance partners, in the planning, delivery and advocacy of IFS, leading the State Government in the implementation of reform. Conducted catchment (regional) planning as part of this process.• Led change management processes with State Government around Child Protection/IFS and Child FIRST reform. This included submitting proposals, providing informed feedback to policy and participating in various meetings to inform practice.• Managed Department of Health and Human Services and ISO audit processes to gain compliance and accreditation.• Undertook partnership work with a range of universal, secondary and tertiary services and programs.• Participated in social planning and program identification for preterm through to 17 years.• Managed a budget.• Delivered complex reports for local, State Government and the Alliance.

Bayside City Council is a Melbourne metropolitan council. The Family Services team delivered minimal direct service delivery however, is key in the planning, advocacy and project work to improve outcome for children, young people and families across Bayside. My role led social planning for children from birth to ten years and families across the municipality. It involved liaising with internal services, external providers, partners and funded agencies in gap identification, data analysis and research to identify targeted evidence-based interventions to meet community gaps.• Developed the state-wide Municipal Early Years Plan.• Led community development and community engagement forums.• Managed stakeholders via networks and forums.• Delivered professional development and training for early years sector.• Coordinated the Parent Education Program.• Project-managed capital works of integrated early years services.• Event-managed family and children’s events.• Coordinated media and communication around children and family services and wrote content for the website.• Led Local, State and Federal policy implementation, advocacy and support to sector.• Coordinated integrated hubs such as the Highett and North Brighton Children’s Centres.• Provided advocacy and support for community services; playgroups, playhouses, kindergartens, occasional care, childcare etc.• Prepared reports and developed policy.

I was one of few people qualified to supervise across all levels.• Offered a full-time lecturing position.
