Michael Lennon is a Staff Software Engineer @ Galileo, a SoFi Company at Galileo Financial Technologies. He possess expertise in analysis, microsoft office, spanish, leadership, powerpoint and 21 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I worked with Michael on the Springboot microservice we were building, which is a part of the generic framework used in Nielsen IQ to present Consumer Business Analytics. Michael pays immense attention to detail, which shows in the quality of his work. He is also a passionate developer relentless in the pursuit of providing the best possible technical solution. His contributions to our code review sessions are valuable.", "I worked with Michael on a java and react/redux javascript project and I was very impressed. He onboarded very quickly and was pushing useful and meaningful code during his first few days. He has a deep knowledge of the javascript ecosystem and he helped other team members improve their knowledge. He described and demonstrated new-to-the-team best practices in a way that made a lot of sense and helped the team productively comprehend and adopt these practices. We did quite a bit of pair programming together and I appreciated his style which did not cut corners and wrote good and complete tests. I learned a lot! When Michael spoke up in team discussions his points made a lot of sense, were useful, and well thought through. I also really appreciated the way that he helped us question some of the less useful cruft in our team's agile rituals.", and "Michael was a lead developer on a team for which I was the tech lead. Even though he was on the team for only a couple of months, it was sufficient time to convince me that he is a high-performing developer, excellent communicator and a committed team player. Michael has loads of experience in writing software in multiple languages. He was positioned as the JavaScript and ReactJS expert on our team, and he justified that fully. Michael was productive -- actively pairing on stories and committing code -- from day one. It's rare to see someone get onboarded that quickly on a mature team with a large codebase. He suggested improvements to our ReactJS code. His most lasting contribution was simplifying our ReacJS components to use Redux state fully, and make component rendering via pure (stateless) functions, which are much easier to test. Michael turned this experience into a lightning talk, which benefited many more people than just the immediate team. During his brief stay with the team, Michael found time to geek around with the Amazon Alexa libraries and created a working proof-of-concept demonstrating that our APIs could be controlled via a voice interface. He did that on his own time, which reflects his passion for technology and hard work. The POC was very well received by our clients. Michael is a well-rounded person who has thought about and has ideas on various subjects outside the immediate realm of software craftsmanship. Casual conversations with him about how to structure teams, how to do remote pairing, even about soccer games, turn into worthwhile exchanges of ideas. I enjoyed and learned from my several hallway conversations with him. I am happy to know that Michael will stay in the Chicagoland area, thereby increasing the chances of further encounters. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
