Managing DirectorMarketus Consulting May 2011 - Apr 2013Sydney, AustraliaUnrealised potential sitting wasted in Brands and in Intellectual Property from design, fashion, games, sport and entertainment has always fascinated me. This and identifying new revenue streams, partnerships, brand extensions and ways to drive increased profit for companies in the ever changing business landscape is something for which I have a passion. Consequently, in 2011, I moved from the position of SVP Business Development at Creata to that of consultant. In doing so I work directly with the Chief Executive Officer to grow and develop new business. I identify business opportunities, service offerings, strategic partnerships and new clients and respond to such opportunities with proposals that meet the opportunity, client objectives and which are commercially viable. My consultancy is pivotal to maximize opportunities for clients in areas of current and potential new services. As part of my consultancy services I was contracted as Acting CEO for Signature Design Archive from Nov 2011 until May 2013 after which I was employed by Signature Design Archive as CEO.Organisations and management respect and value someone who is capable of big picture strategy development, is a lateral thinker; and is across all the latest developments in digital communications and production and how they may impact the market. The demand for this combined with a very 'hands on' approach to delivering results using strong communication and people skills, an intimate understanding of brand engagement, sports and entertainment businesses is what Marketus Consultancy delivers to our clients.

Import Marketing And Product Development ManagerBata Group Feb 1980 - Dec 1985Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaThe new Managing Director’s challenge was to generate increased revenue and profit from the import division. Equally he inherited three new injection moulding machines and full sewing departments for which sales had only reached 10% of capacity, staff were being laid off, the moulding division was making a massive loss and was dragging down the overall company performance. He promoted me to take on the import managers role and then added the responsibility of developing and selling new collections to fill the capacity of the new moulding machines. Developed domestic and import ranges/brands utilising licensed properties and modified production processes increasing profit by 1000%. This was achieved by the below:- • Imports Via the use of licensing and brand development of higher quality kids, athletic, womens fashion and mens classic footwear featuring high profile licensed brands like Mr. Men and Disney and Bata’s global brands like Power athletics and Marie Claire ladies fashion the import department revenue increased 10 fold even though units sales were restricted by quota net profit grew by 1000%. • Molded Footwear As regards the moulding department, by negotiating with the government to secure quota to import high value upper components at low costs, applying volumetric controls to injection machines to allow ‘blown’ soles to be injected, we saved $85,000 in injection materials whilst offering lighter products with high market appeal at low costs. Then by creating new moulds that featured the same appearance as the biggest selling jogger at the time (without breaking their IP patent), introducing new branding and pricing the product aggressively, sales grew from 100,000 units per year to 1.8m resulting in a dramatic profit turnaround. Created local Aus/NZ distribution strategy for athletic and fashion brands, appointed, trained and managed sales teams and incentive programs.Organised the worlds first World Cup Squash event with Jahingir Khan. -
