Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Development Centre (Formally Process and Product Development Centre) for technological up-gradation of small scale Foundries and Forging industries was set up at Agra in the later half of 1985 with the assistance of Govt. of India, Govt. of U.P. and UNDP/UNIDO. Initially, it was a Government setup under SIDO and later converted into an autonomous body w.e.f. 21st July, 1986. The affairs of the centre are managed by a Governing Council under the chairmanship of AS & DC (SSI). The Principal Director is the chief executive of the centre.
