At Hydrobe®, a decarbonisation company, I lead the biological and bioengineering team at our scale demonstration facility in Victoria. Hydrobe’s technology enables large-scale production of lipid- and protein-rich biomass by recycling CO2 with minimal energy input, breaking down microalgae cell walls without the use of heat or pressure. I collaborate with laboratories in Brazil, Perth, and Melbourne to develop and optimise this system and engage with global stakeholders and testing our feedstock for industrial applications.As a Research Fellow at Monash University, I specialise in transforming food waste into sustainable polymer (polyhydroxyalkanoate) products through bacterial fermentation, aligning with the principles of sustainability and the circular economy. Holding a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from UNSW Sydney, my expertise lies in recycling waste plastics into high-quality products. My background encompasses industrial organic waste valorisation, wastewater treatment, and biomaterials preservation. Proficient in materials characterisation techniques, manufacturing processes, materials flow analysis, life cycle assessment, and techno-economic assessment, my career is dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability by contributing to sustainable practices and finding innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
