Salesforce.com- used declarative development techniques to add functionality (custom fields, page layouts, views, etc.)- custom development including REST web services in Apex, Visualforce pages, Visualforce components, SOQL, jQuery, jqueryUI, jqGrid, Knockout.js, RemoteActions, Future methods, forcetk.js.- for example, created a VF page and custom controller that displays media plan details in a jqGrid. The jqGrid enables users to select/deselect detail rows via checkboxes and sort the grid. Users click on a button in the page to send their edits to the grid data to an external service. The external service is called via JavaScript remoting on the page, which calls a RemoteAction in an Apex class. The RemoteAction calls the external service using an Http object.
