About Martha Soria-Pimentel

Hello everyone! I am a 5th grade teacher at LUSD. I'm proud to be a UC Merced alumni. I recently finished my multiple subject teaching credential and bilingual authorization. In my journey at UCM, I worked as an Assistant Teacher for the summer program that includes STEAM and common core subjects. I have a B.A. in Psychology. My background is in Neuroscience, and Physiological Psychology. In my professional journey, I worked as an instructional aide, mental health aide and academic tutor (prek-8th and college) in a school and home setting. I have more than 10 years of experience working in education (prek-8th). I also have a background as a social and health services caseworker in Early Education. My objective is to use my background and skills to help our youth thrive. Teaching philosophies/strategies I implement are: PBL and PBISMy research interest and experience: Attachment disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, RAD, Autism and PTSD. I am fluent (speak,read,write) in English and Spanish.I am intermediate in Italian.
