This work will treat of the construction of centers of expertise on free software in order to improve and promote the dissemination of the culture of free knowledge, and better direct students of computer courses to professional profiles that the market expects, introducing the student early in the various areas, through actions of teaching, extension and research. For this purpose, a methodological essay on teaching approach that is not based on the traditional model (punitive and repressive) will present them. In thisperspective, the methodology that is presented through these centers, although not new, breaks with the traditional model, through playful activities based on stimulus and collaborative construction of knowledge and the individual being stimulated consumer and producer of knowledge. Such approaches permeate in the collaborative development of open source software, which revolutionized the software engineering and has culminated in the development of Linux.

- Linux development - Qt GUI with C++- C/C++/ShellScirpt - Network communication with Ethernet over TCP/IPThis work describes a network driver to communicate between the Graphical Supervisory Interface (GSI) and the Control and Supervision Software (CSS) in Tracking and Management System (TMS) of antenna on Estação Multimissão de Natal – EMMN (Natal Multimission Station). In this work, we changed the previously monolithic architecture of the system for a new architecture in layers, based on the client/server paradigm. This new architecture is composed by a new structure where the client program (used by the operator, GSI), communicates using the Ethernet network and TCP / IP protocol with the server program. It has been developed with free software, distributed in Local Network over Server/client paradigm, using TCP/IP protocol. The server program then communicates directly to the hardware control module of the antenna using an AD / DA converter. The client program (IGS), receive and transmit information to control, available as usual and simplified to the operator, making easier the process that previously required an operator with expertise in Linux.
