With the South River Watershed Alliance (SRWA), I help raise awareness for the restoration of Georgia's South River, an important yet undervalued and neglected river. We’re working to increase water quality and protect the river and communities through bold, strategic activism.As a creative director and designer I look for human insights to inspire concepts that speak uniquely to a specific audience. With a BA in Anthropology, a minor in African Studies & Studio Art, I enjoy finding unexpected connections. Nature, in all it's function and form, science, and Eastern Philosophy are my go-to for inspiration. And so it goes that I have found ways to merge creativity with my drive to protect the environment.I am board chair of City in the Forest, a Metro Atlanta tree protection advocacy group, and I lead various conservation initiatives including Stop the Swap of Intrenchment Creek Park, Saving Sky Haven, and Save Ormewood Forest. I serve on the natural resources committee of Tate Mountain Assoc., LLC and the parks & greenspace committee of East Atlanta Community Association (EACA). I'm an NAI Certified Interpretive Guide and an '18 Alum of ARC Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta (ALMA).I was raised in Athens by parents who spearheaded historic preservation in the 70s. My mother is a painter, among other things, and my father was a history professor and scholar of Colonial Georgia. I attended the College of Charleston and received my BA in Anthropology and African Studies in 1999. Post BA I worked in archeology throughout the Southeast and lived in Peru and Italy for several years. From Italy, I attained a minor in Studio Art with UGA. Then I moved back home to Athens for six years where I worked in the decorative arts. In ‘09 I graduated from The Creative Circus and for the next decade worked in agencies as a designer & art director, specializing in logo design & conceptual creative.
