I am a UC-Davis trained winemaker with broad experience producing outstanding wines from Napa Valley and beyond, in vintages both great and difficult. This background allows me to adapt my winemaking techniques to produce wines of delicious flavors, richness and texture regardless of fruit and vintage conditions.I look forward to using my skills and experience to help you produce the wines you dream of.As the winemaker at Seavey Vineyard I produced outstanding wines from a 40-acre estate vineyard. We produced two cabernet sauvignon wines, a merlot, and a chardonnay. Robert Parker has called Seavey Vineyard's wine "the most underrated Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon," awarding the cabernet scores in the 94-96 range. Mr. Parker awarded a preliminary score of 95-99 for the "virtually perfect" 2007 Cabernet, which I blended before leaving Seavey. Mr. Parker calls the second-label cabernet, Caravina, "brilliant," and "a surprisingly supple, sexy, and opulent wine...."These successes prepared me to take on new challenges for in the world of custom crush. At Failla I worked with 8 client winemakers to create exceptional cabernet and syrah based wines from numerous vineyard sites. The talents I developed at Seavey helped me to realize the creative visions of the client winemakers, which in turn further expanded my winemaking palette.In 2010 and 2011, the two most challenging vintages in California memory, I produced wines of grace and power at Quixote Winery.
