Managed the conversion of Joist and Deck requirements on contract documents and BOM's to production drawings and orders.Reduced the cost of errors from over $65.00 / ton in 2008 to less than $2.00 / ton in March 2012.Developed the Customer Service Request tracking system currently used by all plants. This system was the basis of the Change Order system also currently used by all plants. Development of the Special Joists Profile Catalog for the design and specification of special profile steel joists (e.g. Arch, Scissor, Bowstring, Gable.)Developed an RFI program to quickly send out RFI's before drawings go OFA. Developed the Quality Manual used by all 7 plants.Developed field splice design and methods for software implementation. Published an article regarding the value of clear communications with customers and erectors. The complexity of the field splices on a particular project were the subject of the article.Recruited and hired the engineering department for the Hope, Arkansas facility. Performed all necessary engineering required until Hope crew was self sufficient.Served on the Engineering Practices Committee at the Steel Joist Institute where I helped develop the 43rd edition specifications and Technical Digest No. 6Speaker at AISC/NASCC conference 2010 and 2012.Developed a joists series to take advantage of a 1½" gap rather then the traditional 1" gap between the chord angles.
