With over 15 years of experience in advocacy and nonprofit leadership, public meeting facilitation, training, and conflict resolution, Michelle Roth is passionate about advancing credit unions' and their members' interests and values. As the Senior Director of Governmental Affairs at the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU), an association that represents 333 credit unions in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, Michelle is the chief lobbyist for Alabama and leads the legislative and political advocacy efforts for the state. Michelle is committed to building strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders, policymakers, and community partners and ensuring that credit unions have a voice and a seat at the table in the financial services sector.As the Executive Director of the Alabama Cable and Broadband Association (ACBA), Michelle was responsible for legislative affairs, public and community relations, and statewide advocacy efforts supporting Alabama's cable industry. She engaged and developed relationships with industry leaders, elected officials, and media outlets, and promoted and educated them on the issues and challenges facing the cable and broadband sector. She also worked closely with ACBA members and Alabama leadership to recognize the importance of connectivity for education, economic development, and quality of life in the state. She leveraged her skills in nonprofit leadership, public meeting facilitation, and conflict resolution to manage and coordinate the association's operations, programs, and events.
