About Monica Stancu

I have developed an international career with a focus on diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and human rights. I am passionate about designing workplaces that work for everyone and linking D&I to business success. I apply an intersectional lens to D&I activities and encourage balance, belonging, allyship, wellbeing and inclusive leadership. As a global citizen who has worked and studied in 6 major cities around the world (e.g. New York, London, Basel, Paris, Amsterdam and Bucharest), I think global and act local when designing solutions. I am currently the Senior D&I manager at Lloyd's leading our D&I and Wellbeing work. Previously, I worked for the Royal Academy of Engineering where I led the internal D&I programme and the external D&I Progression Framework programme focusing on professional institutions.I hold an MA in Women’s History from Sarah Lawrence College, USA and was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York. I have been selected as a Global Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment by UN Women. I am a One Young World Ambassador. One Young World identifies, connects and promotes young leaders, giving them a global platform. I am also a Salzburg Global Fellow. This is a transatlantic programme which brings present and future leaders to solve issues of global concern.
