I moved from Alaska to Chicago in 2013 for my undergrad at Columbia College Chicago. It was there that I first fell in love with the city and completed my Music Performance & Management Degree. My first jobs in Chicago were in the restaurant industry, where over the years i've succesfully held varying positions from Management to Sales. While working in the service industry has supported me well financially over the years while pursuing my other passions, I found I needed a change of gears with a challenge. With an already existing interest for the law and political world, I honed in a new focus which was to pursue my Paralegal Certificate. With the push of the pandemic as motivation to learn a new skill and trade that interested me, I completed my Paralegal Certification course through Depaul University in 2021. Over the 17 week course I learned the primary skills required to fill a Paralegal position. Coursework material included Tort/Personal Injury, Corporate, & Contract law, as well as completing a hypothetical client case-file including litigation, discovery, and trial prep. In this course I also received practice in using LexisNexis and Westlaw for legal research. I look forward to my first Paralegal position as a hardworking professional, eager to apply my already honed communication and organization skills to a new field that both challenges and excites me.
