Mr. Md. Shahab Uddin has more than ten years of working experience in the field of humanitarian and disaster management and his working area encompasses Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, and Thailand. He has worked for many national and international organizations most importantly BRAC, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), Asian Institute of Organization (AIT), Bangladesh Center for Advanced Studies (BCAS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES) and others as a consultant and regular staff. Before joining CARE Bangladesh, he has served the world's biggest humanitarian crisis in Bangladesh (Rohingya Crisis) as a Programme Development Specialist (Fundraising) with the Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP) of BRAC. His professional, academic, and research backgrounds encompass the areas of multi-hazard risk and loss assessment, urban management, humanitarian crisis and emergency response, climate dynamics and adaptation, coastal environmental dynamic and management, remote sensing and GIS, and most importantly program development and donor reporting for fundraising and quality compliance. Mr. Shahab pursued her B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree from Chittagong University, Bangladesh focusing on Coastal Oceanic Dynamics and Management of Marine Eco-system. He did his second M.Sc. from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand focusing on Disaster Management and Geo-Information System. Currently, he is in the final stage of his Ph.D. study on “Complex System Approach in Urban Emergency Response and Resilience”. He has published many journal articles, conference papers and a book chapter with the world reported journals and publishers.
