In 2021, Apple set a record of 1.65B iPhones on the market. Apple is a $275B technology manufacturer and one of the world’s largest and most valuable companies. Challenged to keep pace with the company’s exceptionally tight deadlines, narrow error margins, and immense scale, I was hired as an Engineering Program Manager to ship complex, cross-functional projects that deliver operating and monitoring services on an unmatched global scale.After completing 2 additional roles, I moved to the SEAR group to lead large, matrixed teams of 100–800 members to help harden security for the iOS, macOS, WatchOS, and other product lines.▍ Focus Areas:System Security • Data Security • Threat Intelligence • Personal Safety▍ Key Deliverables:► Data Security & Threat Intelligence• Integral role in shipping the revolutionary privacy and security focused Private Cloud Compute to support Apple Intelligence, including on working the initial prototype HW that eventually became the server that supports PCC and Apple Intelligence work loads. • Developed and launched a Security Researcher Device (SRD) and program• Reduced Malware on macOS computers with the launch of a notary service and significantly reduced the threat area of the OS kernel.• Enabled highly secure data to be processed over the network; safeguarded passwords, photos, and sensitive data against man-in-the-middle attacks (MITM) as well as Apple and government surveillance.► Child & Personal Safety• Developed several personal and child safety features and promoted public safety training.• Worked with domestic abuse shelters and non-profits to help victims navigate their technology.
