Operating in first line of defence. Responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic vision and direction for risk management across the Customer, Commercial, Insurance, Payments and Money Services business functions. Developing and maintaining relationship with Senior Management at all levels. Managing and developing a team of risk professionals to ensure effective delivery of strategic goals. SME and consult on significant business change and risk related programmes.

Operating in second line of defence. Leading the design and implementation of the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Frameworks (EWRMF). Lead the development and delivery of the Banks Event Management policy and Material Event Escalation process. Robust oversight and challenge to Customer and Commercial business areas, providing expert risk knowledge and guidance in all aspects of the EWRMF. Hands on and proven experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders across all three lines of defence. Integral part of the delivery of the Banks regulatory ICAAP and ORSA submission.

Responsible for the provision of advice and assurance to senior management on the adequacy and effectiveness of policy and regulatory standards. Provided risk management support, review and challenge on risk and control identification, assessment and mitigation plans. Development and monitoring Key Risk Indicators. Delivery of robust risk reporting and governance. Implementation of regulatory and policy related risks and controls, such as SOX, Information Security, Supplier Management. Lead and manage a small team of risk professionals to support the delivery of the risk management strategy and business objectives.

Undertook a variety of Customer Facing roles including complaint handling, customer application fulfilment and latterly Operational Risk Management in the first line of defence. Implementing and embedding risk management frameworks in a start-up organisation.
